Uniffy

How Uniffy works

Seven steps from instruction to proof

Uniffy treats a cross-border payment as an obligation with a lifecycle, not a balance you hope arrives. This page explains what happens at each step without exposing how the plumbing is built.

  1. Create an account or identify an institution

Individuals open an account in the Uniffy app. Schools and businesses are onboarded by our partnerships team.

  2. Verify identity and eligibility

We confirm who you are and whether the product is available for your country and customer type before you can pay.

  3. Create an obligation or payment instruction

Choose the beneficiary, the amount and the purpose. Beneficiaries are verified institutions or accounts you have added and confirmed.

  4. See route, fees, currency and expected timing

Before you approve, you see the exchange rate, every fee, the destination amount and the service window. Quotes have an expiry.

  5. Approve and authenticate

You confirm with strong authentication. Nothing moves without your explicit approval of that exact quote.

  6. Track execution and settlement

Follow the payment through processing to settlement. If a provider is slow, the status says so; it never guesses.

  7. Receive receipt, reconciliation and support

You get a durable receipt and timeline. Institutions receive references they can match. Support can see the same record you do.

The public website never initiates, approves or settles a payment. All of the steps above happen in the authenticated Uniffy application, powered by Faircores infrastructure.

What you always see before you approve

  • Source and destination amount

In both currencies, rounded the way that currency is rounded.

  • Rate and spread

The exchange rate applied and how it compares with the mid-market reference.

  • Itemised fees

Every fee, and any tax, listed separately rather than blended into the rate.

  • Expiry and service window

How long the quote is valid and when the payment is expected to settle.

If a quote expires, you get a new one. You are never charged twice for re-quoting, and an unknown outcome is shown as processing, not as failed.

What happens when something goes wrong

Cancellation

Before execution you can cancel. After execution, eligibility depends on the rail and the corridor's rules, and we tell you which applies.

Refunds

Where a refund is possible, you see the eligibility and the calculation before it is requested. Larger refunds are reviewed by two people.

Complaints

Every customer has a documented complaints route and, where applicable, an external dispute-resolution body. See the complaints page.

Details for your country are in complaints and terms.
